Catherine Barrett
Catherine will be performing the Gliere Harp Concert with the Vancouver Symphony on February 20th at 3pm and February 21st at 7pm. More information about the Vancouver February concerts can be found at http://www.vancouversymphony.org/
Catherine has played the harp for over 16 years, performing on concert stages around the world as an orchestral musician, chamber artist and soloist. Alongside her work as a harpist in various symphony orchestras in the U.S. and abroad, Catherine is an active freelance harpist, playing numerous weddings, events and church services wherever she may be. Most recently serving as Principal Harpist with the Sarasota Orchestra, Catherine has also held positions with the Yucatan Symphony in Mexico, Sao Paulo State Symphony in Brazil, Singapore Symphony, and Dayton Philharmonic. As a solo artist, she has performed concertos with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Doctors Orchestra of Houston, Kingsport Symphony, and the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra.
She received degrees in harp performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and Rice University, where she was a student of Alice Chalifoux, Yolanda Kondonassis and Paula Page.

Internationally renowned Paraguayan harpist and luthier Mariano
Gonzalez is joined by long time friend Ernest Franco for a special
evening of South American music. Master harpist Mariano Gonzalez
incorporates jazz, classical, pop and Latin, with a traditional
Paraguayan repertoire, to produce the lyrical, beautiful sounds unique
to Paraguay. Paraguayan harp is the country’s national instrument and
played by most Paraguayans as a traditional form of folk music.
Grupo Condor promotes traditional folk music traditions from a
variety of Latin and Central American countries. Unable to bring
Ernesto Franco to Portland last year for the annual Paraguay
Independence party, Grupo Condor was contacted by Ernesto, who was
performing with internationally renowned Mariano Gonzalez, about
performing as a duo for a concert here in Portland. The outcome is

Harp Concert - July 1st, 2008 Elizbieta Szmyt
Elzbieta Szmyt toured to Portland to perform on Tuesday, July 1st, 2008, at the Zion Lutheran Church. She is a native of Poland and is currently an Associate Professor of Music in the Harp Department at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. Ela performs solo and chamber recitals and conducts master classes in Europe and America. She has been featured in the World Harp Congress in Copenhagen, Prague and Dublin. Her solo CD, *Rhapsody* has been released on DUX label.
Harp Concert - December 20th, 2007 Lavinia Meijer
Lavinia
Meijer appeared in Portland on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 following
her performance at Carnegie Hall. The concert was held at The Zion
Lutheran Church and was performed on an Aoyama Musa Concert Harp,
provided by Elaine Jolliff. Her concert featured works from every era
by Dussek, Faure, Tailleferre, Scarlatti and Salzedo. Ms. Meijer has
been a featured soloist with renowned orchestras all over the world and
has won countless awards and competitions.

Harp Concert - February 17th, 2007 The American Youth Harp Ensemble
The American Youth Harp Ensemble presented a wonderful concert in Portland Oregon on February 17, 2007. This exceptional group performed on 13 Aoyama harps in the Queen Marie Ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel.
